Feshmen Orientation Camp
The FO camp is officially over!! Hip Hip Hooray!! The 4 days 3 nights has finally ended. Prep camp started on the 28 of march to 30 march. It was quite tiring as we GLs hardly get any sleep and worse still, I was sick. Damn sore throat. I wasn't able to cheer and then on the second day of prep camp, I had fever. It was so sianz lar.. Of all the days to be sick, I had to be sick before the camp... The wedding ceremony was held on the second day of camp.. lolx.. Everyone was so excited and scared at the same time.. We were blindfolded and had to make a sound of a animal to find our partner. Eventually I found my partner. He was Alvin... Was quite satisfied coz I dun mind working with him...
On the last da of prep camp, we drew lots to see which groups we were going to take. There were 6 groups namely, Airclaw, Stinger,Scorpion,Havoc,Piranha and Typhoon. I got Scorpion! lolx..
First Day 31 March
I was still sick as ever but then for the sake of camp, I hang on. We played ice breaking games with the campers before separating them into groups. When I saw my group, I was quite happy coz I already knew some of them beforehand. My group got 15 ppl namely Daryl,Chen Ye,Poh loong, Clifford, Jun Wei,Sean,Yi Wen, Melissa, Yu Ting, Chen Pei, Mabel, Hidayah, Shidah, Serene and Gena. Yeah! I got 9 daughters and 6 sons.. Hee =)
First activity of the day was flag painting. Initially I felt that my group wasn't really bonded and everyone was kinda shy. Maybe it was becoz they're meeting each other for the first time and didn't know what to do or say... Being GL for the first day of the actual camp was kinda tiring as my children didn't know what to do so Alvin and I kept telling them all the stuffs that they were required to do such as cheers... We went to Police Academy in the evening and had dinner. I was quite happy that my children enjoyed the dinner =) The next activity was that they were required to form the word, "CSCC", using the skins of watermelon,orange,grapes,apple,banana and lemon... Oh my goodness... The lemon was soooooooooooooooooooooooo sour!!! lolx.. Then they had freshido.. Hahas.. I guess everyone GLs were looking forward to this.. But the process of leading was quite tiring coz they were blindfolded and all we could say is " Follow my voice. Follow my voice". Lolx.. Seeing them going through this freshido, reminds me of the time when I had mine.. Hehe... The freshido ended around 2.30am in the morning. The campers went to bathe and had red bean soup for supper... To my surprise, my sons actually feel that freshido is kinda fun coz they never experienced it before. *phew* I thought that they would complain and grumble about how dirty it was. Luckily they didn't.. ^_^
Second day, 1 April
We woke up at 9am and had breakfast at the canteen. We had dou jiang you tiao!!! Oh my god! It was damn yummylicious! lolx... But I can't eat the you tiao coz I had sore throat.. After that we taught them some camp songs and then proceeded for the next activity. In the afternoon, they played verse games... There were 3 stations and they had to compete with another group. I could see that my group was getting more enthu coz they were very excited about the games.. Hehe.. I was so happpy that they were enjoying themselves.. Finally Alvin and my effort were not wasted.. And because of this, my group won all 3 station games.. They were so happy and I could see that they were already bonded.. After that they had their dinner before playing another game. It was a intellectual game.. Everyone enjoyed themselves and even thoes being drenched by water and bee hoon.. lolx.. Before the game ended, The GPs wanted my group to do the forfeit. Chen Ye and Gena was goin to be drenched in water and bee hoon. To my surprise, my whole group volunteered to do it with them! I was so touched by their actions. I never thought that they would do this.. Don't get me wrong. It's not that I look down on them or whatsoever. It was the team spirit and the bond they shared that moved me.. I was truly touched by them... After that they bathed and had night walk... Before night walk began, they had to watch a horror movie.. Then ight walk started ard 11.50pm... Gena was the first girl from my group to walk.. This time they were allowed to be paired for the night walk.. Lucky them! Hehe.. All the females Gls waited at the ending point for them and asked them about how they felt about it... To my surprise, most of my daughters didn't feel that the night was scary! I was so stunned.. Lolx.. If it was 1 or 2 girls, I wouldn't mind, but now it's the whole group of them! Lolx... One of Cs old senoir, Edwin, cooked porridge for us... It was so delicious.. Yummy! =)
After that, they went to bathe and sleep..
Third day, 2 April
We woke up at 10am and packed our stuffs as we were returing back to school! Hooray! Finally we can go back to school. Seriously speaking, Sp toilets are 98765432945454645354557725425 times better than PA toilets! lolx.. Wwe had our lunch and then proceeded to the next game. This game was quite fun as we kept drawing on the campers shirt and GPs... lolx.. After that, it was wet game!!! Hahas... My group was damn enthu about the wet games.. They feel that wet game is the best game they ever played.. lolx.. Go Scorpion! After that they went for dinner.. The last game they played was to prevent the egg form being cracked when it was thrown from a certain.. My group named their creation, Parapear.. hahas.. Damn lame. After the game, we taught them camp songs and campfire started around midnight..
Last day, 3 April
Campfire started and everyone was very high... Then it was Shim nite! lolx.. Everyone was laughing off their heads when they saw the Shims.. Chian hwee and Zhi cheng were soooooo pretty!!! hahas.. Good job guys! The winner was obviously Zhi cheng.. hahas.. Then we continuedthe campfire and ended around 3am plus.. They had cocktail for supper and then it was disco nite! Finally! I've been waiting for this day for a long time.. But then something happened and the disco nite could only last for 2 hrs.. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed myself alot!! hahas.. Thanks audio peeps! Disco nite was a success! =) After that, we went to bathe and sleep.. Didn't really sleep much... The campers gathered in the canteen at 11am and had their breakfast... Then they proceeded to SAC foyer for GL performance.. lolx.. All the GLs were so excited and nervous about the performance.. lolx.. Our performance was manhunt, but this time the girls will be the contestants.. We had to do manly actions lar.. lolx.. Then all the Gls had to say something to their kids.. My group was the first... Nearly cried when i was saying my speech.. Heng never cry in front of them.. xD Then Shogun Apple ( Zi qing) officially ended the camp! =) We took alot of photos and then went to clementi for la-teh... hahas..
I'm really happy that I got to be a Gl. Through this camp, I really learn alot of stuffs and experience the warmth that my kids gave me... Scorpion, I'm really proud of you guys. You guys really shocked me ever since day 1 and especially the game whereby Chen Ye and Gena was supposed to be drenched in water and other stuffs... You guys just went out to accompany them. I was really surprised and proud of you guys.. During this 4 days 3 nights camp, I really enjoyed myself. You guys rox my life!! =)
To all Gls, you guys did a excellent job and the camp was a success.. Really enjoyed working with you guys.. We're the best of the best! Kampong Ninjas will always be together! =)
To Glts, Hui zheng and Zhi cheng. Thanks for having the patience to teach us. I know we have created some problems for you but nevertheless, I'm still grateful for what you guys have done. Without your guidance, I don't think we Gls can make it to this far.
